da prosport bet: Rangers had a fairly busy transfer window in January and though Florian Kamberi and Ianis Hagi have made positive contributions since signing, some of the Gers’ business may have come back to haunt them.
da esport bet: Kamberi has impressed fans while Hagi scored twice to send the Glasgow outfit into the Europa League round of 32, but two players who left on loan could have made an impact.
Jamie Murphy joined Burton and has since scored seven goals in 10 league games, while Greg Docherty has enjoyed similar success in another temporary spell away from the club.
The midfielder suffered to get onto the pitch at Ibrox this season yet has already contributed three goals and five assists for Hibernian in just eight matches.
That shows what he is capable of and it is possible that Gerrard is regretting the decision to let him go, particularly as his side haven’t fared too well over the last few weeks.
We put the question to our writers as to whether the Rangers boss made a mistake in letting the youngster go, and whether he deserved more of a chance earlier in the season.

“When looking at Rangers’ league form, it is obvious to see how rapidly their it declined after the Celtic win, as they won just three of their following eight SPFL games.
“To me, this seems like a case of mental fragility when needing to step up as a chance to actually overtake their Old Firm rivals comes around, rather than a question of ability. Rangers’ midfield contains plenty of players who can make a difference on their day, so they weren’t lacking in this department.
“During his time away, Docherty has shown that he can potentially make the step up to play for Rangers in the future, but to expect him to drag the team along while those around him would be crumbling is an impossible task, one that would be unfair on him given that he has played just 19 times for Rangers. He will be better off for having spent this time away from Ibrox.”

“Usually you’d say loaning out a youngster to a lower-level team and him hitting top form would be a stroke of genius, but with Steven Gerrard’s Rangers only winning three of their last six league games, it has to be said that they could do with a bit of the firepower Docherty is providing Hibs with at Ibrox.
“Did he act too soon? It’s hard to say, we don’t know what Docherty was showing in training, and these things will always look worse in hindsight, but the fanbase shouldn’t be frustrated by Docherty’s good form, they should see it as a positive and once he returns in 2020/21 he should be primed and ready to make an impact in Glasgow.”

“It seems that Gerrard has missed a trick here.
“Docherty made three assists in his five Rangers games this season and that was an indication that he possesses the necessary talent to serve this side well.
“As an academy product he could be even more determined to perform to a high standard too and that means he could provide a valuable contribution even in games where he may not produce in the final third.
“10 goals and 11 assists at Shrewsbury last year demonstrated his capability but it seems his manager didn’t learn his lesson by deciding to let him go.
“Gerrard should learn from this and think twice about letting him leave once again, as he could prove effective in the Scottish Premiership next term.”

“Steven Gerrard was naive to let the midfielder join Hibernian on loan at the end of January, as his team were beginning to stutter around that point in the Scottish Premiership title race.
“This isn’t a youngster who isn’t ready to perform for Rangers, he is a 23-year-old who seems to have become accustomed to making an impact on the rare occasions he is on the pitch – three assists in one Europa League qualifying clash last summer is proof of that.
“The fact he has five assists and three goals in eight outings for Hibs to date shows the impact he can have in the final third, and his general goal threat could have been just what the Ibrox outfit needed when they were struggling to pick up points prior to the league being suspended.
“The loan may well benefit Docherty in the long term, but there should be a sense of regret creeping in for Gerrard right now about that January decision.”
