da prosport bet: Javier Hernandez has denied rumours that he wants to leave West Ham United.
What’s the word?
The Mexico international returned to the Premier League in the summer in a deal thought to cost around £16m.
The signing was West Ham’s most exciting of the window, but the former Manchester United forward has experienced some disappointment in his time at the London Stadium so far.
Under manager Slaven Bilic, who was sacked almost a fortnight ago, the 29-year-old was regularly played out of position.
Despite that, he has still managed to score four goals for the Hammers, who currently sit one point from safety.
PublisportÂrecently reported that Hernandez was looking to cut short his spell at West Ham and potentially move to Mexican outfit Chivas.
However, the forward has publicly slammed the rumours.
“Completely false. I am 100 per cent committed to helping improve the situation we are experiencing all at West Ham.ÂAnd as always I say this I am #chivadecorazón but I have not asked to leave West Ham in no time.”
Was Hernandez right to speak out?
On so many occasions, footballers tend to keep quiet when transfer rumours do the round.
Some choose to conduct themselves in that way in order to focus on the immediate matters a hand – performing well for the team.
Silence, though, can sometimes do more harm than good, particularly if it results in fuelling the speculation.
Hernandez’s decision to publicly deny the rumours was a good move from him, especially because of the club’s current situation.
A new manager (David Moyes) has taken charge and given West Ham’s current predicament in the table, the team cannot afford to be distracted by transfer rumours.
Hernandez’s decision to nip it in the bud early was the right one to make.
