The Premier League is well-known as the richest league in the world, which allows clubs to attract some of the best players around and pay them huge salaries.
But which club in the English top flight has the biggest wage bill for the 2024/25 season? In this list, we’ve taken a detailed look at each of the 20 teams and their salary bills, as per Capology, with some extraordinary numbers on show.

20 Ipswich Town £653,000 per week
Bottom of the pile is newly promoted Ipswich Town, who Kieran McKenna took from League One to the Premier League in back-to-back seasons.
The Tractor Boys did spend upon promotion to the top flight, with Kalvin Phillips on loan from Manchester City and the highest earner at Portman Road on £150,000 per week.
19 Brentford £822,500 per week
Next on the list is Brentford, who have been a regular in the Premier League under Thomas Frank since 2021.
The Bees have comfortably avoided relegation battles in recent years and their highest earners are full-back Aaron Hickey (£70,000 per week) and centre-back Ben Mee (£55,000 per week).
For a team that is now consistently impressing in the top flight, to place so low is a testament to the great work behind the scenes.
18 Bournemouth £952,000 per week
Bournemouth are certainly punching above their weight under Andoni Iraola considering they are in the relegation zone when it comes to the wage table.
Those on the south coast have signed well, with impressive defenders Milos Kerkez and Dean Huijsen on just £30,000 per week. Meanwhile, the Cherries’ biggest earner is currently thought to be summer signing Evanilson, who takes in £85,000 a week.
17 Southampton £965,500 per week
Bournemouth’s south coast rivals Southampton spend slightly more than them, but they haven’t had the same success on the pitch.
The Saints, who won promotion via the play-offs in 2024, made a number of signings, including Aaron Ramsdale, who is the top earner at St Mary’s on £120,000 per week.
It makes you wonder how different their finances will look if and when their relegation is confirmed later in the year, bar a miraculous from the club rooted to the bottom of the table at the time of writing.
16 Wolves £1,068,500 per week
On to teams who spend more than £1m per week on player wages, beginning with Wolves who spend more than £55m per year on salaries.
They managed to keep hold of star forward Matheus Cunha, with Pablo Sarabia and Goncalo Guedes also on big money in the Midlands, as the latter two both take home £90,000 per week.
15 Brighton & Hove Albion £1,138,500 per week
The Seagulls have been an ever-present figure in the Premier League since 2017 and are known as one of the best-run clubs in England.
Brighton have sold a number of players for huge money in recent years and currently top of their wage bill is Ferdi Kadioglu, who is on £87,500 per week.
The Turkey star replaced Lewis Dunk and Kaoru Mitoma as the club’s highest earner, with the Seagulls pair both on £80k a week – or just over £4m a year.

Leicester City won promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt in 2024 under Enzo Maresca, who then took over at Chelsea.
The Foxes had a huge wage bill in the Championship and managed to keep onto star striker Jamie Vardy, who picks up £140,000 per week at the King Power Stadium.
However, relegation may test their current wage structure, with the East Midlanders facing a difficult battle against the drop.
13 Nottingham Forest £1,278,000 per week
The Reds have finally settled into Premier League life and are flying high under Nuno Espirito Santo, with their free-spending days in the transfer market now seemingly behind them.
Forest chiefs still have a healthy wage list, though, with defender Nikola Milenkovic the only player picking up more than £100,000 per week at the City Ground. Whether performance-related bonuses will affect things next season remains to be seen!
12 Crystal Palace £1,294,500 per week
Since winning promotion back to the Premier League in 2013, Crystal Palace have regularly finished in mid-table, albeit with a few relegation battles thrown into the mix.
Under the management of Oliver Glasner, the Eagles also slot into mid-table in the Premier League wage list, with Daichi Kamada the top earner at Selhurst Park – the Japanese midfielder takes home £105,000 per week.
11 Fulham £1,315,500 per week
Palace’s London rivals Fulham spend slightly more than the Eagles when it comes to wages, with Marco Silva re-establishing the Cottagers as a solid Premier League outfit.
Goalkeeper Bernd Leno picks up £130,000 per week, whereas loanee Reiss Nelson and striker Raul Jimenez take home £100,000 per week.
Interestingly, only Brentford spend more on their midfielders than the Whites, so the likes of Tom Cairney (£30k per week) may be feeling a little underappreciated at Craven Cottage.
