What’s the word?
Villa boss Dean Smith has already smashed the club’s transfer record by bringing in Wesley Moraes from Club Brugge for £22m as well as adding 11 other players for a total surpassing £130m.
The club have been linked with a number of striking options even despite already adding a forward in Wesley this summer – Neal Maupay slipped through their fingers to Brighton, Jean-Kevin Augustin and Mbaye Diagne have also been rumoured.
Ben Yedder would be quite the coup having been linked to Manchester United (according to La Colina de Nervion via Sport Witness) and Monaco throughout the off-season.
Though it is deadline day so everything should be approached with caution.

Ambitious Aston Villa
If Villa can pull off a signing like this then it would be quite the statement of intent from the West Midlands club.
Ben Yedder bagged 18 goals and nine assists in 35 La Liga appearances for Sevilla last season which was the sixth-bestÂin the league with the likes of Lionel Messi, Karim Benzema, Iago Aspas and Luis Suarez marginally ahead of him.
That only puts into perspective the quality of player Villa could be getting their hands on.
At just 5 foot 7, he would also bring a different option to Wesley who stands much taller at 6 foot 3 – or he could even be the ideal sort of player to play off their new target man if Smith was open to tweaking his system slightly.
The 28-year-old is also a France international but was only able to make their World Cup standby list as his country went on to win the tournament.
In the summer, he made his first start for France against Andorra where he also netted his first goal.
Villa would likely take finishing 17th, thus ensuring survival, though this signing would probably raise expectation levels through the roof.
