da blaze casino: Fresh from a winning run in the Premier League, they swept aside Huddersfield Town in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday thanks to goals from two teenagers making their debuts.
The Saints, of course, are well-known as excellent developers of young talent. Think of the likes of Gareth Bale, Luke Shaw, Adam Lallana, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Theo Walcott and Wayne Bridge. All have gone on to play for their countries at the highest level, while one was briefly the most expensive footballer in the world.

They are no mugs when it comes to developing talent and so perhaps we shouldn’t have been surprised that it was two 19-year-olds who provided safe passage into the fourth round.
First, Will Smallbone scored a stylish half-volley from inside the box, before Jake Vokins sent a stunning finish into the back of the net from range three minutes from time.
They are now genuine options in the first-team and it proves that there is immense talent at this football club just waiting to break through.
Of course, Saints have struggled this season but they are now five points clear of the relegation zone and are on a five-match unbeaten run in all competitions. They have beaten both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks.
Add into that the potent mix of young talent blossoming and one gets a clear picture of what could be to come from Hasenhuttl’s men.
It will naturally take time; nothing good ever came easy and patience will be required with the likes of Smallbone and Vokins.
But suddenly there is more than just hope about staying up; there is now genuine optimism for the future.
Long may that continue for the south coast club.
