West Ham fans are getting ready for a big London derby against Arsenal at the weekend, and may be hoping that the Hammers can put in a similar performance to their one away at Goodison Park back in 2016.
Back on the 5th March 2016, West Ham were 2-0 down, before goals from Michail Antonio, Diafra Sakho and a 90th-minute winner from Dimitri Payet gave the Hammers all three points in a season where they finished 7th in the Premier League (West Ham).
A top half finish looks unlikely this season but fans will hope that their players show the type of mentality and passion as the fixture back in 2016 to keep the club in the Premier League.
West Ham had two great fixtures against Arsenal that season, winning 2-0 at the Emirates and then battling out a thrilling 3-3 draw at home. However, Arsenal managed to beat them 3-1 at the London Stadium earlier this season (11v11).
After seeing the club post footage of that amazing comeback, here are what fans have been saying, with one fuming at the ‘idiotic’ choice of tweet…
